i see a pattern growing

...slowly at first, but emerging none the less.
in my emails, on the phone....the same question.
however it's not really the question that bothers me, it's the all expecting answer.

Q: what have you been upto?
this secretly means..you are living in italy so you must be constantly shopping, dining out, jetting around europe, meeting dolce + gabbana and god knows what else?!

A: not much, well on wednesday we did go bowling and there was this phone where you could ring up and order pizza and beer...
this secretly means..yes i live in italy but i still have to do the washing, i still bake cookies, i still lay round in my jammies to watch spiderman if i feel like poos..

the place has changed, people have changed, language has changed but in reality everyday life is everyday life.
